Are Protein Bars Healthy, and How Many Should I Eat Per Day? | Protein bars are not intrinsically healthy nor unhealthy since it depends on what they contain and how they fit into the overall scope of your dietary needs (the same applies to how many you should eat per day). We would contend that Protein+ Bars are "healthy" because of the balanced macronutrient profile and our ingredient selection, but that doesn't mean you should eat several of them per day (especially if it doesn't align with your macronutrient intake goals). |
When Is the Best Time to Eat a Protein Bar, and Can it Replace a Meal? | Protein+ Bars can be eaten any time you want a healthy meal replacement or snack, though you might need to eat more than one bar if you're using it as a large meal replacement. We typically recommend Protein+ Bars after a workout, when you don't have time to eat a whole-food meal, or when you want a high-protein snack throughout the day. |
What Should I Look For in a Protein Bar? | This depends on your goals and dietary needs/restrictions; however, we think it's important to look for a protein bar that is made with wholesome, natural ingredients and to be cautious when you see protein bars labeled as "sugar-free" or "low net carbs" as they very likely contains exorbitant amounts of fiber and/or sugar alcohols. |
Is it Healthier to Have Protein Bars or Protein Shakes? |
Either of these can be healthy options depending on your macronutrient intake goals and dietary preferences/restrictions. Some may argue that pure protein shakes are "healthier" because they contain mostly protein and fewer ingredients, but protein bars can be a healthy choice too, particularly when you need more than just protein (i.e. a snack or meal replacement). |
Are Protein+ Bars Considered Vegan Protein Bars? | Unfortunately, no. The Protein+ Bar is not a vegan protein bar since it contains egg white and whey protein, which are derived from animals. However, we do carry vegan protein powder made with rice and pea protein. |
Does Transparent Labs Ship to My Country? | Transparent Labs ships Worldwide, with the following exceptions due to increasingly high fraudulent activity in these countries: Albania, Algeria, India, Israel, Lithuania, Macedonia, Mexico, Romania, Russia, Tunisia, and Ukraine. |
When will My Order be Shipped Out? | All orders ship out the following business day. |
Does this Product Contain Nuts? | Yes, this product directly contains nuts (peanuts and coconut). If you are allergic to these, we recommend checking out our whey protein powder instead. |
Is this Product Gluten-Free? | While many of the ingredients in Protein+ bars are gluten-free, the product as a whole is not tested for traces of gluten. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that Protein+ Bars are gluten-free. |
What's in the Dairy-Free Chocolate Chips? | Our chocolate chips are made with unsweetened chocolate, cane sugar, and cocoa butter. |
Ingredients May Vary Based on Flavour***
Grass-Fed Whey Protein Isolate | Grass-fed whey protein isolate is a complete protein source that's rapidly absorbed and easily digestible. Being derived from the milk of grass-fed cows, our whey protein isolate is an excellent source of essential amino acids and branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), which are crucial for muscle repair and growth [1]. |
Egg White Protein | Egg white protein is another exceptional complete protein source that promotes muscle repair; in fact, egg whites have the highest attainable protein-digestibility corrected amino acid score (PDCAAS) [2]. They are also a good source of B vitamins and selenium. |
Natural Peanut Butter | Natural peanut butter contains a generous amount of protein, healthy fats, and fiber, which promote satiety and heart health. It is also rich in vitamins E and B3, as well as minerals like magnesium, supporting overall micronutrient intake without the added sugar or hydrogenated trans-fat found in more processed versions. |
Natural Almond Butter | Almonds are a nutrient-dense nut packed with heart-healthy monounsaturated fats, protein, and dietary fiber, making them a perfect complement to our protein bars. Almonds are also nutritious due to their magnesium and antioxidant content, which are commonly lacking in the diet. |
Dairy-Free Chocolate Chips | Made with unsweetened chocolate, cocoa butter, and a small amount of cane sugar, these dairy-free chocolate chips provide the rich sweetness and flavor of traditional chocolate chips without using any milk products and have low sugar content. |
Dates | Dates come packed with fiber, potassium, and essential trace minerals like copper and manganese. They also provide a wholesome, natural sweetness to our Protein+ Bars. |
Gluten-Free Rolled Oats | Gluten-free rolled oats are a heart-healthy carbohydrate source that provides soluble fiber and sustained energy. They also contain an array of antioxidant micronutrients and essential minerals to promote overall wellness. |
Coconut Oil | Coconut oil is a dense source of medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), a class of "healthy" saturated fats that support metabolism and energy production [3]. It also imparts the Protein+ Bar with a softer texture. |
Honey | Honey is a natural sweetener with a diverse nutritional profile, including trace amounts of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino acids, and antioxidants. Unlike refined sugars, honey contains flavonoids and phenolic acids that contribute to its antioxidant properties, offering potential health benefits such as anti-inflammatory effects. Its lower glycemic index than table sugar means it has a more stable impact on blood sugar levels. |
Tapioca Syrup | Tapioca syrup, derived from the starch of the cassava root, is a natural sweetener that offers a gluten-free alternative to corn syrup. The body rapidly absorbs tapioca syrup, providing a quick energy boost to keep you moving. |
Sea Salt | Sea salt is less processed than regular table salt and more flavorful, so its inclusion in the Protein+ Bar was a no-brainer. Sea salt is a natural source of numerous electrolyte minerals, notably magnesium, sodium, and potassium, adding not only a dash of flavor but also essential micronutrients to the final product. |
