Ganoderma lucidum, also known as the reishi mushroom, is a large, robust mushroom that has been used for centuries in Traditional Chinese Medicine as an herbal remedy, especially for bolstering liver and immune functions [1]. Research suggests that protein and triterpene constituents, specifically ganodermic acids, are responsible for the immunostimulating and hepatoprotective effects of reishi mushrooms [2].
