RICE & PEA PROTEIN

I purchased this product in a subscription and did not like the taste. It is very chalky and the artificial sweeteners are overwhelming. I tried to cancel the subscription before the next shipment but was late. I have reached out to customer service to return the unopened product but no one from TL has replied.

Ive become more conscious about whats in many of the foods i eat. The simple short ingredient in this product is great to see! This product taste good. I got it because reglar protein powders seem to upset my stomach so this plant/vegan is esier on me. I got the chocolate and im pretty sensitive to taste. I was afraid this might be too sweet but its not. its just very chocolaty. I blend it with berries and bananas and ice for a cool shake so maybe the berries help with taste but ive tasted the raw powder, its not too bad. It mixes very well which was another thing i was worried about. It doesnt clump and stick to the sides of the mixing cup . It is very powdery and light so if you spill some, it can get messy it get everywhere I will buy again.

I don't know why all protein powders are so sweet, this is fine except the sweetness is just way too much. Step back a bit on the amount of stevia and i would give it 5 stars

I purchased a jar of the Chocolate flavor to compare with a different protein powder I had been using, hoping to switch to this one as it would save me a little bit of money every month.

I'm about 3/4ths of the way through this and while it's good enough to finish I don't think I'll be buying it again.

The chocolate flavor is actually pretty good, but then at the end I get a very strong and overly sweet stevia flavor that lingers in my mouth. It ends up overpowering the chocolate and making it seem not as good.

Creaminess is decent, especially considering they aren't using gums or anything like that. No issues with blending and I don't get any chalkiness or grit on my teeth while drinking.

My main issue with this powder is that my gut does not agree with it. As soon as I started drinking this I've been having some fairly strong "clear the room" type flatulence. I paused using this for a few days and the gas went away, then promptly returned as soon as I resumed using this powder, so I'm fairly certain it's the culprit.

This was quite surprising to me given the short ingredient list, but my best guess given my palette's reaction to the sweetness would be the stevia.

My other thought is that it is something in the "natural flavors", but without knowing what it actually consists of it's impossible to know for sure.

Side note/nitpick: I find it odd that a company that prides itself on the transparency of its ingredients uses one of the most opaque ingredients there is: "natural flavors".

This rice and pea protein is just what I was looking for. Especially for my blood type. Feels healthy and has a great taste.
